The Holidays are Over-the New Year Begins

How did you do over the holiday season? Were you able to maintain some order to your eating program? Unfortunately, the usual answer to that is "no".

There may be extra days off and possibly children home from school. Temptation is all around you. Every grocery store is offering samples of foods that are not going to help your diabetes. we all slip, but the degree of slippage is what is important.

What were your blood sugars during this time of feasting and indulgence? If you checked them at all, they were probably a bit high. This hurts your overall health. It is not necessary to binge on holidays in an effort to enjoy them. Moderation is the key to success with an eating program for patients with type 2 diabetes. You already know that there are very few foods that are strictly forbidden. For this reason alone, there is no reason to go overboard.

I don't believe in New Years Resolutions. I do believe that any person with type 2 diabetes can be in control. instead of binging and then working to get those extra pounds off your body, don't do it. Don't give in to temptation and allow yourself to become the victim of your own indiscretion. if you are able to read this post, you are able to control your diabetes.

Although it may have taken just two or three weeks to gain those 5-10 pounds, chances are it will take you longer to shed them. Don't do this to yourself.

When you think about what you want to eat, think of the foods that will benefit your body. Those are the foods that you should "want" to eat.

what is a life coach

While a life coach can lead you down the right path to good health with your diabetes, I am not the food police. I will give you the steps to get you where you want to be, but it is up to you to take those steps and run with them. Meetings and phone calls are part of it. We will have Skype access in the near future and can meet on the internet while you are in your own home.  I'm looking forward to watching this grow.

Good Morning

As the holiday season peaks, you will need to keep a close watch on what you choose to eat. I'm not suggesting that you refrain from all of the luscious treats that are set out as bait during the holidays, just limit how much you eat. Remember control is in your hands.

Teaching and Learning

One of the first things we try to go over with new clients is reading labels. it is surprising how many people don't know some of the major factors of a nutritional label. Just looking at the calorie count won't give you a good idea of how healthy the food may be. there is more to it.

We will be starting Skype conferences as soon as we get payment arrangements made with google and paypal.
